Classical Singing

Bethany completed her doctorate in Vocal Performance in 2011 at the prestigious Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she also earned her Masters and Bachelors degrees. During her time there, she studied with multiple Grammy-award winning soprano, Sylvia McNair, as well as with master technician Alice Hopper. She has sung with the Indianapolis Opera, Kammeroper Köln and Opernwerkstatt am Rhein and some of her favorite operatic roles include The Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Laetitia in Menotti’s The Old Maid and the Thief and the Princess in Susa’s Transformations. One of her career highlights was singing a solo performance of a newly composed piece for his holiness the Dalai Lama in 2009.

Even solely within the world of classical music, she explores a broad repertoire, singing everything from early music to newly composed works. Chamber music and recitals in intimate settings are a particular passion of hers, as they allow audiences to connect more immediately with this powerful music in a setting that might be less intimidating than huge concert halls and opera houses.
